The Womb Of The Goddess
I enter the Goddess labyrinth, meandering along the grassy path toward the curve of her hip, then whirl through each swirling breast, her overarching arms, and her spiraling head. I then journey downward through the opposing hip to the foot of the Goddess and turn upward into her round belly, circling twice before entering her womb. Here, I pause, held by a generative, life-giving presence, before I begin my outward journey.
Modeled after a pagan symbol of a goddess with full breasts, ample hips, and round belly, the above labyrinth represents aspects of the Divine Feminine, such as fertility, abundance, and creativity. Each step along the 2-dimensional path gives shape and form to the Great Mother, known for millennia by many names, such as Mother Earth, Gaia, and Pachamama. The serpentine journey to her cave-like womb is a pilgrimage to the source of all life and an opportunity to bask in revitalizing energy through a process of gestation and rebirth.
Emerging from the womb of the Goddess, I am reborn as I wind my way through her body toward a new beginning.
For all that is,
Goddess with an aura of autumn leaves.
